A few weeks ago I was lucky to be able to go down to Devon to photograph Roger Deakins, a legendary cinematographer. Roger was the man responsible for the camera work and lighting on films such as Shawshank Redemption, True Grit, Kundun, The Big Lebowski, Jarhead and more. I arrived early, so we sat and had tea and chatted about films and photography, as Roger also shoots a lot of stills. He started out shooting documentaries so it was really interesting chatting to him, especially when I found out a lot of his inspiration for his film work comes from photographers such as Bill Brandt and Bresson. Anyway, here's the tear sheet and another shot that I liked from the shoot...
nice job Ben, looks like it was a really cool experience too
